I started my path to psychology in an unconventional way by first studying maths and ethics. Many turns, study and training led me to becoming a practicing psychologist. I continue to centre my journey on curiosity, exploration and open-mindedness, and welcome these qualities in my work with people.
I find a lot of joy and fulfilment as a psychologist and consider it a real privilege to do this work. I like to focus on creating a comfortable, personable place that allows people to share stories and experiences, find meaning and create change.
I have found that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for talking through tough topics. I focus on collaboration and enjoy working with people on deeper questions and challenges, exploring their inner world, and helping them connect with their own wisdom.
I absolutely welcome diversity and have a particular interest in working with people from the queer or LGBTQIA+ community; both for queer identity exploration as well as general mental health needs. I also greatly enjoy working with neurodivergent folks in therapy (but I don’t offer formal assessment and diagnosis). My other areas of interest include anxiety, post-traumatic stress and trauma recovery, depression, stress and adjustment.
I’m influenced by humanistic, strengths-based, trauma-informed and integrative psychological therapies. I have experience and training across a range of therapies and mainly draw on:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Schema Therapy
I’m familiar with the worker’s compensation insurance scheme and am a SIRA accredited psychologist.
I also offer clinical supervision and you can find my supervision bio here.
I completed registration as a psychologist in my home state at the University of Tasmania before moving to New South Wales in recent years and making the Illawarra area my home. In 2024, I also completed a clinical master’s degree to extend my studies and learning.
