About Me
I'm a therapist who works collaboratively and creatively with people navigating all kinds of life experiences. As a psychologist with more than 25 years of experience, I've worked across counselling, supervision, clinical leadership, group facilitation, training and assessment roles in a wide range of settings — from multidisciplinary government allied health teams and not-for-profit clinical services, to specialist roles in behaviour support.
After all these years, where my heart sits best is in private practice — being with people from all walks of life, of diverse backgrounds, ages and abilities, and doing real, meaningful work together.
What Brings People Here
People come to therapy for all kinds of reasons, but there's usually one thread in common — something needs to change, and they're willing to explore what that might look like. Whatever brings you here, you'll be met with genuine respect, care, and belief in your capacity to grow.
My style is warm and grounded — often with a generous dose of creativity and humour. My practice is connective, relatable and wholehearted, and I place real importance on building safety and trust before anything else. From that foundation, we can begin to explore the connections between your thoughts, beliefs, emotions and behaviours — and find the deeper understanding that makes lasting change not just possible, but sustainable.
How I Work
At The Psychology Spot, I draw on a rich and integrative range of therapeutic approaches:
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Attachment-Informed Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (AI-EMDR)
Clinical Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT or 'tapping')
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
Dignity Therapy
I have a deep fondness for Internal Family Systems (IFS) and have completed advanced training (Level 3), ongoing supervision and accreditation to become a Certified IFS Therapist and Approved Clinical Consultant with the IFS Institute. It is a model I find completely respectful of human complexity, and one that sits beautifully at the heart of my work.
I am also a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor and bring a similar complement of qualities to the support and guidance I offer psychologists and other mental health practitioners. Click here for more information about clinical supervision.
A Special Interest: Perimenopause & Menopause
Perimenopause and menopause are so much more than a time of hormonal change — it’s also often a turning point of the deepest kind, bringing difficult to answer questions about identity, selfhood, purpose and meaning. Questions like 'who am I beyond the roles I’ve held', 'what am I no longer willing to carry', 'what does it mean to live in a changing body', and ‘am I allowed to want more’ aren’t questions being asked because something is ‘wrong’, but because something in you is ready to be reconsidered or redefined.
This change is a time that deserves to be understood and valued, not just managed.
Therapy is a place to be truly witnessed through this transition — to make meaning of the experience, and to find your footing on new ground.
